A Darth Vader Birthday Party: Yoda vs. Darth Vader

Each attendee at the birthday party got to decide if they wanted to be a Jedi (Team Yoda) or Sith Lord (Team Darth Vader).  Based on their choice they received a white or black training uniform.  After choosing a side the training began!

Darth Vader Dress

For her birthday, my daughter wanted to be Darth Vader.  I bought a black tutu dress from old Navy and bought a Darth Vader chest patch off of Etsy.  I sewed the patch onto the dress and we had an instant Darth Vader costume!

Jedi outfits

I made simple Jedi costumes out of fleece and then tied them with a felt belt.  Since fleece does not fray, I was able to cut them quickly from a pattern with no sewing needed.  You criss cross the flaps in front of the body and tie it in place with the belt.  The kids had lots of fun picking sides and we had an inflatable Yoda and Darth Vader just in case they didn't see the movie.

The activities

The Jedi training included lots of activities.  There was an obstacle course, a dance party, and light saber dueling.  The kids had a great time and after pizza there was a super fun game of dodgeball.
